Half gods are worshiped in wine and flowers. Real gods require blood.– Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God
Blood
Part of the 2022 Advent of Lucifer
Blood is the ultimate expression of life force. Your blood is the ultimate expression of you – it contains your whole story. Where you’ve been, where you’re going. Your DNA. Your health, past, present, and future.Taste a drop of someone’s blood and you might learn how they will die, if you speak the language.
We use it to seal the most solemn of pacts because blood always comes at a price.
Blood isn’t merely transactional, however, and it isn’t really just about you. Your blood holds trace elements of your entire ancestry. You are a direct descendent of the first human beings, and everyone who has survived every age, every horror that man and nature could conjure, to successfully reproduce. You are a product of resilience and persistence, even on days you don’t feel very resilient. Your ancestors surely had days like that, too.
We have to decide what kind of ancestors we want to be. The human saga is not over; there will be many more generations to come who will look back on the world we’ve left them. They’re going to have questions.
We can answer some of them now. Do you want to be forgettable? Merely passing on your divine spark, or do you want to be remembered as someone who tried? Someone who did something, or at least strove to do something. Someone who gave a shit.
The sad fact is that truly good people rarely make history. But anyone can be a great ancestor. Spend some time thinking about what your forebears did, or might have done, that would make you proud, and ask yourself, with the time and resources I’m allotted in this one precious life, what can I do to make a difference for who comes after?
Maybe you don’t literally have children, either, and that’s fine. Human continuity is about all of us, not just genetic succession. The wonderful living world is our collective legacy, and in that sense, as a steward and protector, you become an ancestor to all who come after.
Charging the Sigil
Blood is the sacred lifeforce we carry through us. We are born of this Earth, carrying on our ancestors through our very bodies. While much of our generation is driven to break generational trauma, we would not be who we are today if not for our ancestors. We have a duty to change the future for our descendants, to break the blood that binds us to the past and weave a new future. Our sacred blood will carry forth through our descendents, and they will have us to look up to. We will be better than those that came before us, bringing honor to our blood.
As we devote our time this month to honoring Lucifer, charging our sigil encourages a deeper connection. If this is your first time charging a symbol like this, you can think of it like a moodboard – this sigil represents us as a community and religion. What does this sigil mean to you? What can it represent? Take the time to focus and reflect, meditate on what each of our concepts mean to you and how they can apply to our lives.
For our energy workers, you may charge our sigil by visualizing a bright white light surrounding it. Use breath work to guide this energy into the sigil, knowing that it grows in strength as you do so. You can also focus our themed concepts into the sigil using meditation and our affirmations to program this energy. This will serve to strengthen our sigil for later use in our ritual.
The following incantation may be used as part of your sigil charging, or used as an affirmation:
“Blood that binds us breaks the bonds of the past, forging a better path.”
Daily Devotion
Blood asks that we look to the past and future. We know the mistakes of generations past, as well as the good they’ve done. We must break from those who are toxic, and honor our loved ones that lived with joy for the family. As we look upon the future, we must honor our children, and create a path worth walking for them. Take the time today to consider what changes you need to make to create this new path, and what toxic ties need to be broken.

Make Your Own
We encourage you to make your own oracle card for each of our themed days, so that come the end of our Advent, you will have your own Luciferian oracle deck. These cards may be used to give you insight on what you may need to work with in the future.
We recommend using blank playing cards if available, but any kind of art or canvas cards, even lined notecards can be used. Make your drawing or symbol (it doesn’t have to be amazing, only meaningful to you) on one side and on the other write down any key phrases or words or concepts that resonate with the image to you.
If you choose to share your result, which we would love to see, you may use the hashtags #luciferiandominion and #adventoflucifer so that we can find them! If you choose to make your oracle deck part of your #Inktober or #Drawloween events, please feel free to use those hashtags and include them in relevant spaces!
Happy creating during this blessed Advent!
