Little Ones

Part of the 2022 Advent of Lucifer

Most of us have come to have small, dependent things in our care. Whether they be children, pets, plants,or wild animals we steward. While we are nourished by our little loves, caring for them can be stressful at the best of times, and this anxiety is only compounded by our certain knowledge of the mindless destruction and terror in the world. We have to keep them safe, we think. What kind of world are they going to inherit?

Of course they’re going to inherit the world we leave to them. Most of us feel – and are – powerless against these apocalyptic hyperobjects propped up by millions and millions of the least of human beings. But we shouldn’t discount our individual and collective will to create sanctuaries for our little ones.

It isn’t important that they “learn to cope” with systems in active collapse. You can’t prepare them directly for the world as it is, because everything is transitional right now. Throwing them in the water and hoping they swim isn’t the answer; the world they “adapt” to today will be gone by the time they’re adults, and many of us in our 30s and 40s resent being browbeaten, shoehorned, shamed, and forced into preparation for a world that no longer exists.

Our priorities in caring for our little ones should be to insulate them from as much of the arbitrary harm as we can – the pointless cruelties in which there is no lesson other than that people are cruel – so that they may be shaped with nurturing and guidance, not senseless trauma inflicted on them by people and things that aren’t going to matter. Ultimately, it is up to us to shape the future we want, and we can’t and shouldn’t allow it to be defined by people who insist on participating in a dying empire.

Why are Luciferians, who other Luciferians would have you believe are completely self-absorbed and delusional, concerned with the care of dependent beings in the first place? There are two simple answers:

1. We are human beings, not gods, not magickal mystical creatures apart from the natural order. It is by design that our species nurture children and animals and occupy ourselves with green and growing things. Care is, perhaps, the most human trait. We are vivid, alive, wonderful and we care for the people and things around us because it is our will to exist, persist, and thrive. Every “living god” is a social and genetic cul de sac.

2. Most of us come from traumatic backgrounds. That doesn’t always have to be so, but for most of our current generation it is. It is our moral imperative to do better. Through hurt, we have learned deep care, emotional perceptiveness, and understanding. While we might not always know the best thing to do, most of us have a long checklist of what not to do, and that is a start.

We care for our little ones because it is the human way, and we are elemental beings who wish to not only endure, but – a rarity among humans today – actually wish for our descendents to prosper and live in ways that eclipse our own. We are stalwart caregivers because our eyes are focused on the future. We want to be worthy ancestors.

Charging the Sigil

Little Ones inspires us to honor those we care for – our children, pets, plants. Our compassion for our loves knows no bounds. Our children are our future, and we are determined to give them a better life than we had. Our pets are our faithful companions, and our plants nourish us and our world. There can be no doubt that those we care for must flourish under our careful guidance. We are building our future for them, so they may have the opportunity to guide their little loves once they’re grown.

As we devote our time this month to honoring Lucifer, charging our sigil encourages a deeper connection. If this is your first time charging a symbol like this, you can think of it like a moodboard – this sigil represents us as a community and religion. What does this sigil mean to you? What can it represent? Take the time to focus and reflect, meditate on what each of our concepts mean to you and how they can apply to our lives.

For our energy workers, you may charge our sigil by visualizing a bright white light surrounding it. Use breath work to guide this energy into the sigil, knowing that it grows in strength as you do so. You can also focus our themed concepts into the sigil using meditation and our affirmations to program this energy. This will serve to strengthen our sigil for later use in our ritual.

The following incantation may be used as part of your sigil charging, or used as an affirmation:

“Thy little loves flourish.”

Daily Devotion

Little Ones inspires us to spend time with those we care for today. Our time on this Earth may be limited, but our memories and stories will live on through our children. They will not be children forever, of course, so take the time to make some memories with them. Play games, go for a walk, enjoy your day together.

Make Your Own

We encourage you to make your own oracle card for each of our themed days, so that come the end of our Advent, you will have your own Luciferian oracle deck. These cards may be used to give you insight on what you may need to work with in the future.

We recommend using blank playing cards if available, but any kind of art or canvas cards, even lined notecards can be used. Make your drawing or symbol (it doesn’t have to be amazing, only meaningful to you) on one side and on the other write down any key phrases or words or concepts that resonate with the image to you.

If you choose to share your result, which we would love to see, you may use the hashtags #luciferiandominion and #adventoflucifer so that we can find them! If you choose to make your oracle deck part of your #Inktober or #Drawloween events, please feel free to use those hashtags and include them in relevant spaces!

Happy creating during this blessed Advent!
